Who Can Participate?  Washington DC residents in:

·        Grades 6-8

·        Grades 9-12

Essays will be evaluated on:

I.                  Content (75%)

·         Presentation of your position

·         Defending your position

II.              Mechanics

·         Grammar

·         Smoothness of Presentation

·         Appearance

Essays must be typewritten and double spaced, and at least 300 words in length.

Awards for each group!  1^st Place $100, 2^nd Place $50, 3^rd Place $25
Female High School Winner(s) will also receive an Avon product assortment with up to a $300 value.

Deadline:  Essays must be postmarked by March 2, 2007 or received by email by midnight on March 2, 2007
